Shanghai Residence
Had a chance to go back to Shanghai in January right before Lunar New Year to do an end of the year review of some of our projects in China. We started the project at the end 2023 and it went into construction in 2024. There was a lot of extensive structural changes plus a lot of residential projects are handed over to the client as an empty shell. So while it did take almost two years to finish, it is par for course. Below is some of the rendering of the projects, before construction start and some reflect changes made to the design during construction.
Below is the apartment, we’re helping to move some furniture around to figure out what should go where. The client accumulated a large amount to vintage and rustic furniture during two years and she was excited to have us help find the right place for them in the house. As you can see from the renderings and the photos, there is a large double height space going down to the basement and there is a small lap pool with an artificial skylight. The double height space was created when we cut out part of the slab (which took a lot of engineering) and the swimming pool had challenges of it own but we go it done in the end!
